MGLC Summer in Tivoli: Tivoli In C Orchestra
Tivoli In C Orchestra
The composition In C by American minimalist Terry Riley, which is performed practically every day around the world, has rarely been heard in Slovenia. For the first time, we will have the opportunity to hear it performed outdoors, under the artistic direction of British producer and sound artist Alastair McNeill by the Tivoli In C Orchestra. Ten Slovenian musicians, selected especially for the occasion, will interpret the 53 melodic fragments in an open sequence, combining electronics, contemporary sampling techniques and traditional instruments. This promises to be a fresh and surprising performance of this iconic piece.
Line-up:
Lenart De Bock – saxophone / flute
Ana Jerina, Luna Brinovar (Nulla) – electronics
Kristijan Krajnčan – cello
Vito Opeka– marimba / glock

Angus MacRae - Bell Jar EP
Bell Jar EP
Visuals design by Rudi Falla
Composition by Angus MacRae
venuspoolrecords
Angus played with me in my first ever band. We grew up on the same island in the English channel. Re-connected by chance, via a mutual friend, it made sense to include our our link to Guernsey in the visuals design for the EP. Between a south coast misty beach, pine forest and winding coutry lanes they set an ambient backdrop that holds an abstract animation, but don’t distract too much from the music.
About the EP from Angus;
Bell Jar is an evocative new work in three movements by Angus MacRae, featuring the world-renowned Klezmer clarinettist Michael Winograd.Reimagined from the sonic world of MacRae’s 2022 album Vivarium, this continuous 18 minute piece is a hypnotic blend of rich electronic textures and ethereal soundscapes.
Winograd’s stunning improvisations weave effortlessly through the music, dancing between the intimate and the expansive. The result is transportive, meditative, and deeply evocative.
“Writing Bell Jar felt like the completion of a long journey - it was the missing piece of the puzzle and the perfect complement to Vivarium,” says MacRae. “Collaborating with Michael Winograd was a dream. His playing is unlike anything I’ve heard before.”Released as a standalone EP, Bell Jar also forms the fourth side of the special LP edition of Vivarium, out 7th February on Venus Pool Records
